Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
midx is an independent beta upload extension. This page explains, in plain language, what data may be handled when you use the website, extension, and related beta service.
What midx collects
Depending on how you use midx, the service may handle:
- Video files you select while the extension is enabled, only to run the requested upload workflow.
- File details such as file type, file size, duration checks, and basic validation results.
- Technical logs such as request status, job IDs, errors, browser/user-agent details, IP address, and anti-abuse events.
- Extension settings saved locally in your browser, such as whether midx is turned on or off.
- Support messages if you contact us by email or another official support channel.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data or video files.
- We do not use uploaded videos for advertising, profiling, or tracking across websites.
- We do not use uploaded videos or file data to train AI or machine-learning models.
- We do not publish uploaded videos or turn them into public pages.
- We do not provide accounts, subscriptions, or payments in the current beta.
Why data is used
Data is used only to operate and protect the beta service:
- to provide the upload workflow requested by the user;
- to check limits, file compatibility, and service status;
- to monitor errors, debug failures, and improve reliability;
- to prevent spam, abuse, automated overload, and security issues;
- to answer support, privacy, DMCA, or legal requests.
Storage and deletion
Video files handled by the beta service are temporary. They are not meant to be stored as a library, backup, or public hosting service.
Files are deleted automatically after the related service flow completes, or within a short operational window for failed, cancelled, delayed, or abandoned jobs. Technical logs may be kept for a limited time to operate the service, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.
Extension permissions
The extension asks only for permissions needed for its single purpose:
Service providers and legal requests
To run the website, API, and temporary beta service, limited technical data may pass through infrastructure providers that host, secure, or deliver the service. They are used only for service operation, not for advertising or unrelated commercial use by midx.
We may disclose information if required by law, a valid legal request, platform safety process, or to protect the service from abuse or security threats.
Your control
- You can turn midx off in the extension popup.
- You can remove the extension from your browser at any time.
- You can contact us to ask privacy questions or request information about recent data handling.
- Because files are temporary, deletion requests for already-deleted files may no longer be possible to verify.
